Flavonoids are phytonutrients, giving vegetables and fruits their vivid colors, together with carotenoids. They have antioxidant properties preventing inflammation, boosting overall health and they are important for preventing heart issues. Red wine is rich in flavonoids, as well as some teas. Flavonoids are present in almost all plants, with best sources being onions, kale, grapes, berries and tomatoes.
